Besides brushing the teeth, flossing is as equally as an important part to keep the teeth healthy and clean. You should floss between each tooth at least once a day. While brushing can help the sides and top of the teeth, flossing is able to clean between the teeth. If a cavity starts to form between teeth, it may start to affect the adjoining tooth. If you notice anything like a small hole or dark spot on your teeth, it is recommended to come in so we can inspect it. It is always best to catch an issue earlier, rather than it developing into something much more serious.
Dental Visits are the most important
The most important thing you can do to help maintain proper oral health is to go to regularly scheduled check ups and cleanings. We can examine the teeth to make sure they are in the healthiest condition possible. We can also check the tongue and rest of your mouth to ensure there are not any issues as well. During the examination, x-rays will be taken of your mouth so we will be able to notice if there is an issue that we would not normal be able to see.
