Dr. Rachel Nolander-Poppel
Professionally, Dr. Rachel’s passions lie in comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry. This is often completed with porcelain veneers and full mouth reconstructions with porcelain crowns. She finds great satisfaction rebuilding patients’ teeth and giving them healthy, beautiful smiles that will last their lifetime. Dr. Rachel also provides adult orthodontics with clear braces, TMJ treatments, Botox and dermal fillers, and sleep apnea and snoring devices. She also loves doing root canals! Crazy!
Dr Rachel and her business partner Dr. Tricia are always on the cutting edge of new dental technologies. They have a state-of-the-art practice featuring digital scanners, 3D imaging, design and printing, CAD/CAM milling, and professional photography. You will always get the highest quality dentistry at Advanced Family Dental.
Dr. Rachel Nolander-Poppel is an Albert Lea native, born and raised here and a graduate of the “old” Albert Lea Senior High. Dr. Rachel lives in town with her farmer husband, Kevin, and her two children Charlotte and Ben. She was a three-sport athlete for the Albert Lea Tigers, playing volleyball, basketball, and softball. She now enjoys volunteer coaching her kids’ activities and is an avid supporter of Albert Lea athletics and arts.
Dr. Rachel graduated from ALHS in 1999, attended the University of St. Thomas for undergrad, and is a 2007 graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. She practiced for several years in Faribault before having the opportunity to return to Albert Lea in 2011 to purchase a retiring dentist’s practice. She loves living, practicing, and raising her family in her hometown.

Dr. Tricia Nelson
She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Her training includes all aspects of general dentistry, with a special interest in digital dentistry and removable prosthetic (complete and partial dentures). Dr. Tricia has additional training in digital impressioning systems and the use of implants with complete and partial dentures. Dr. Tricia makes patient-doctor communication her top priority. She wants every patient to feel comfortable.
