Ways to keep your Teeth Clean and Healthy

Keeping your teeth clean and healthy is important for the overall health of yourself. Going to the dentist on a regular schedule can help to prevent further issues from developing for your teeth and mouth. If an issue is caught early on, it can help decrease the chance of more serious issues. These could include things like root canals or deeper cavities. If you start to notice any pain between visits, make sure to schedule an appointment. This can also help reduce the chance of a costly bill. Visit a Dentist Regularly

 

The most important thing that you can do to improve your oral health is to visit a dentist. This is critical because they are trained to look for signs or look in areas of the mouth you cannot see. When visiting a dentist, an x-ray is taken of your teeth. This helps to locate any issues that may be under the gum line, the roots of the teeth, or even between teeth. X-rays help to notice if a cavity is starting to form. This can then be taken care of before it becomes a more serious issue, or costly dental bill. Besides checking the teeth, your mouth, tongue, and gums can also be looked at to ensure they are in the best condition possible. Regular dental visits are also important because we can alert you to if any special attention is needed for your teeth. We may recommend fluoride treatments, or a specific type of toothpaste to use on your teeth.

 

 

Brush and Floss your Teeth

 

It is also important to remember to brush your teeth at least twice a day. Ideally, brush your teeth after every meal when you can. This can help prevent sticky substances from sticking to your teeth. If the food stays, it will start to form plaque. This can then result in cavities starting to form on or around your teeth. If you eat foods that are sticky or high in sugar, it is recommended to brush after every meal to remove this from your teeth. Remember to also brush your tongue. This helps to remove any bacteria that might sit on it throughout the day. Also make sure to floss between teeth once a day. This removes any particles of food that get caught between your teeth. If flossing does not occur, the food can eventually lead to a cavity in your mouth. It is also recommended to use mouthwash. This helps to remove any substances that were left behind after brushing or flossing. Mouthwash will get your whole mouth clean as well.

 

 

Make sure to have Fluoride Treatments when recommended

 

To help improve your teeth, a fluoride treatment might be recommended. This can help strengthen the enamel of your teeth. Stronger enamel helps to reduce the chance of a cavity.
