How to Help Keep your Teeth in Healthy Condition

Knowing how to properly take care you’re your teeth is important for your oral health, as well as your overall health. If you choose not to take care of your teeth and mouth, it could cause more severe consequences. Not brushing your teeth will lead to bad breath. It will also result in cavities in your teeth, and possibly gum disease. You may already know that brushing and flossing your teeth is vital to help them stay healthy. Make sure to Brush

It is important to brush your teeth at least twice a day. It is also recommended to brush after each meal when you can. This way you can remove any particles of what you ate and drank. It is important to try to remove sticky or sugary foods and residue from your teeth as soon as possible. As it sits there, it can lead to tartar forming. It will then eventually lead to a cavity forming in your teeth. Make sure you replace the toothbrush frequently. This helps to provide you with a toothbrush that can be effective and efficient at cleaning your teeth. After brushing your teeth, remember to brush your tongue. This is because germs and bacteria can sit and form on the tongue.

Do not forget to floss

Besides brushing the teeth, flossing is as equally as an important part to keep the teeth healthy and clean. You should floss between each tooth at least once a day. While brushing can help the sides and top of the teeth, flossing is able to clean between the teeth. If a cavity starts to form between teeth, it may start to affect the adjoining tooth. If you notice anything like a small hole or dark spot on your teeth, it is recommended to come in so we can inspect it. It is always best to catch an issue earlier, rather than it developing into something much more serious.

Dental Visits are the most important

The most important thing you can do to help maintain proper oral health is to go to regularly scheduled check ups and cleanings. We can examine the teeth to make sure they are in the healthiest condition possible. We can also check the tongue and rest of your mouth to ensure there are not any issues as well. During the examination, x-rays will be taken of your mouth so we will be able to notice if there is an issue that we would not normal be able to see. Oral health is extremely important, so make sure to go to cleanings twice a year.
